Fast GetawaysHundred Mile Horizon

Livorno, important city along the Etruscan Coast, is still today one of the main ports of the Mediterranean Sea.

The Medici family, at the end of the 16th century, understood the great strategic importance of Livorno as a mercantile and military site: the family ordered its architects and planners to design and build the ‘ideal’ city, upon which it began to play an increasingly relevant commercial role in the sea trade.
